Take Off Your Shoes

Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote some beautiful lines in her poem Aurora Leigh about how the divinity and the extraordinary are woven into every-day life, but only those who notice respond with reverence.

“Earth’s crammed with heaven,

And every common bush afire with God;

But only he who sees takes off his shoes—

The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.”

What do you notice today?
